Dudsbury Guide camp is situated on the site of an old iron age earthworks, high above the banks of the River Stour and the Stour valley way.
The area offers open grassland, woodland shelter, mounds, footpaths and ditches as well as access to the River Stour and all the Flora and Fauna associated with it.
There are deer, herons, egrets, swans, minnows, insects and all manner of other wildlife, which our children can see on a regular basis.
We have use of the Guides’ chalet building (including toilets) and storage for our equipment, so in severe inclement weather we do have shelter; however the children spend 80-90% of their time outdoors.
We also use a toilet tent in our base camp area, and when we’re on a trek we use the great outdoors as mother nature intended for emergencies!
